Do you feel like you’re just blindly sending bland, boring self-taped auditions out into the world? Will casting even watch your tape? Is it cool to send an audition file simply named ‘IMG147.mov’? Why are we even saying ‘tape’ still? In this three hour workshop, we’ll break down All Things Self-Tape.
This class provides the following:
– script analysis techniques for self-direction
– insight into what casting professionals look for and expect in a quality tape
– tips for setting up, recording, and sending self-tapes from home
– tactics to bring your authentic, passionate self to every audition
– valuable discussion and audition review with a human who has watched a mind-boggling number of self-taped auditions and has strong opinions about them
Melissa Pryor is an acting coach and former associate casting director (Big Little Lies, Emmy for Best Casting). Her casting work spans a decade in Los Angeles and Chicago. Some of her casting highlights include Mascots and Family Tree (Christopher Guest), Wild (Jean-Marc Valee), Rules Don’t Apply (Warren Beatty), Trumbo and All the Way (Jay Roach). She wishes she had a female director on her resume, but alas. She enjoys baking bread and true crime, preferably at the same time.
