INT. CLASSROOM – DAY
You, a bright, eager-to-learn writer, sits among a roomful of students on the first day of class. An amazingly knowledgeable and cool instructor enters and delivers a stimulating lecture about writing for the screen. They cover such things as crafting a story, characterization, structure, theme, dialogue, format, as well as other script mechanics. You exit the classroom, your head bursting with wildly inventive movie ideas.
THE END.
During the course, students will write either 1) a script for a short film (5-10 pages) or 2) a treatment (5-10 pages) for a feature film. Each student’s writing will be workshopped in class, and students will receive constructive feedback on their draft from their classmates and instructor. Students will finish the course with a completed draft of their very own short film script OR treatment for a feature film!
