Intro To Animation Writing (5 weeks)

Love animation, but not sure where to start? This beginning level class will give you the tools and set the foundation for you to begin writing animation with confidence. You’ll discover the difference between storyboard-driven and script-driven animation shows. You’ll also develop a story springboard, outline, and a spec scripts of an existing 11-minute show, all while learning the basic structure of animation writing. So let’s get our Saturday morning cartoon on!

This class is 5 weeks long and does not have a class show.

Patricia Villetto grew up outside of NYC, in a town so small there were 39 people in her high school graduating class. And yes, she was class president.

From there, she headed to Northern Ireland and the University of Ulster, where she studied acting, playwriting, and the art of Irish bullshitting. She landed in Los Angeles to hone her improv and sketch skills and perform at Second City, UCB, iO, and The Ruby Theatre.

Patricia is currently waiting for her first feature film to be announced and recently wrote for Netflix’s SONIC PRIME – Gotta go fast! She was also a writer and segment producer for Nickelodeon’s CAMP NICK and head writer for Dreamwork TV’s sketch show OMG. Other past works include Cartoon Network’s BEN 10 and MEGA MAN, Adult Swim’s TIGTONE, Dreamwork TV’s SWAMP TALK WITH SHREK AND DONKEY, KING JULIEN’S STAND UP, PUSS IN BOOTS, branded content for Mattel and GoldieBlox, and the CBS Diversity Showcase.

Our classrooms are ADA compliant.
