FAQ: First Annual College Comedy Nerdfest

1. When and where is the 1st Annual College Comedy Nerdfest being held?
It’s being held at Nerdist School and Stage – 7518 W. Sunset Blvd. LA, CA 90046. It starts Friday night November 13 and runs through the weekend of November 14-15.

2. When does registration open?
Registration opens October 1. On that date you can submit payment to reserve your spot and workshop slots.

3. When does registration close?
Registration closes either the last week of October or when all 50 spots for the event sell out, whichever comes first. It’ll probably sell out.

4. What is included with my registration fee?
Two 2 hour workshops, One 2 hour Q&A panel with an industry guest, and event t-shirt, entry into the Friday night networking event, entry into Saturday & Sunday night improv shows at Nerdist Stage and every team is guaranteed one chance to perform on stage.

5. Do I register by myself or with my team?
Your team will register as a group.

6. How many workshops can I register for?
You can register for two improv workshops and one Q&A session after full registration is open.

7. Do I have to register for the maximum number of workshops?
Nope, it’s your money spend it how you want! But you probably should do as much as you possibly can that weekend.

8. If I don’t register for the maximum amount of workshops, is my registration fee still the same?
Yes.

9. How do I go about submitting my registration fee?
On October 1, we’ll send your team’s contact person an email so he can register your whole team.

10. Will you offer me or my team a refund if it turns out I’m unable to attend after I register?
There are no refunds once registration is submitted. If you’re interested in an individual refund you could work with your improv team.

11. Can I still attend with my team if I don’t want to participate in any workshops?
You can possibly purchase a separate ticket to just see shows at the event. This does not get you into any workshops. These tickets will only go on sale once we know how many teams and team members are coming. If and when they’re available we will email your team contact person.

12. Will my team get a chance to perform on the Nerdist School stage?
 YES! Every team that signs up together for this event gets one performance on our stage in front of an LA audience. And one team may get to perform twice!

13. What can I expect from the networking event on Friday?
You’ll get to hang for an evening at the Nerdist School next to Meltdown Comics and the NerdMelt Showroom with all other team members at the fest, performers and instructors at Nerdist School. There will be music, food and fun.

14. How long is each workshop?
Each workshop is about 2 hours long.

15. Are you offering any housing options for the weekend?
We don’t have official housing options though Nerdist School. As the event date gets closer we will check with our improv house team members to see if we can house some attendees.No promises but we will send out an email about this closer to the event. For options besides hotels we recommend that you research hostels near us or checkout airbnb.com and couchsurfing.com.

16. Will the event still take place if there’s bad weather?       
Yes, it’s indoors. Also, LA doesn’t have bad weather.

17. Will any meals be provided for us?
There will be snacks at the networking event on Friday night but not a meal.
